Economic Development Site

The Upper Coastal Plain RPO was given the challenge to develop a project which was truly regional, providing a service to all counties and municipalities within the UCPRPO region as well as assisting NCDOT Division 4 in their daily activities.
Conversations between the Upper Coastal Plain Technical Coordinating Committee (TCC), Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC), Division 4, Edgecombe, Johnston, Nash & Wilson County Economic Development Groups, it was determined that the best project for the region would be a centralized source of information that could paint a picture of the transportation infrastructure available throughout the region.

Summary
While transportation infrastructure information is available, it is often quite cumbersome to obtain. It is becoming ever more important to view a complete picture of a regions infrastructure in order to understand how essential the link between transportation and commerce truly are. A partnership between the Upper Coastal Plain RPO, NCDOT Division 4, and The North Carolina Department of Commerce has developed this site to illustrate the existing infrastructure and provide a springboard for future economic planning efforts throughout the region.
